Watch this Great Trailer for the TV Mini Series THE KENNEDYS that The History Channel just Cancelled
I love watching The History Channel, there's always something good on to watch no matter what time of day it is, and they were all set to air an 8-part mini-series called The Kennedys, which dives into the world of one of the most famous President of the United States. The show explores "the soiled and crooked steps" the family took to get to the White House. It also tells the historical stories that are associated with the Kennedy era; the Bay of Pigs, the Missile Crisis, the civil rights struggle, the mob connection; each one told in the context of personal, Kennedy-family dramas.
I was really looking forward to watching this series, but it was just announced that The History Channel and A&E network has cancelled the series, and it will not air because it's to controversial. Like The History Channel has never aired anything Controversial before? Come on!
The series has a fantastic cast of actors that includes Greg Kinnear as JFK, Katie Holmes as Jackie, Barry Pepper as Bobby Kennedy, and Tom Wilkinson as Joseph Kennedy.
Here's a statment from the networks rep:
While the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand.
I'm sorry, but I think that's bullcrap. Not fit for the History brand my ass, and a Pawn Shop is? Come on! Apparently the content was not considered historically accurate enough for the network’s rigorous standards. But they show inaccurate conspiracy theory shows all the time, I just don't understand. But then Deadline revealed the following, which puts everything into perspective...
The stunning cancellation, which was done after the mini had been completed, was done under political pressure from the Kennedy family who were not comfortable with the project coming out in the year of the 50th anniversary of Camelot.
Oh well, what can you do? Shop it to another network of course! Deadline also reports that the show is being shopped to Showtime, so hopefully they pick it up and air it. I really want to see this series especially after I saw this trailer. Check it out and tell us what you think.
