BLACKTHORN actor joins Arnold Schwarzenegger in LAST STAND

Movie Arnold Schwarzenegger by

Eduardo Noriega (Blackthorn) is set to face-off against Arnold Schwarzenegger in Last Stand for Lionsgate. The actioner is being directed by South Korean helmer Kim Jee-Woon. The story has Schwarzenegger playing the sheriff of a sleepy little town who runs up against an escaped drug cartel leader heading for the Mexican border.Noriega will play Cortez, "a ruthless fugitive who plans to flee to Mexico in a Gumpert Apollo with $400 million."

The cast also includes Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander, Peter Stormare and Zach Gilford. The film is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Andrew Knauer penned the original spec script that was rewritten by Jeffrey Nachmanoff and then George Nolfi. Last Stand arrives in theaters Jan. 18, 2013. Production starts Oct. 20 in New Mexico.

Noriega has starred in such films as Alejandro Amenabar's Open Your Eyes and Guillermo del Toro's The Devil's Backbone, previously appeared in Brad Anderson's Transsiberian and Vantage Point. I think Noriega is a solid actor and a great addition to the cast. What are your thoughts?
