Don Johnson Offered Role in Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED
Director Quentin Tarantino has offered Don Johnson a role in his Spaghetti Southern Django Unchained, and they are currently in negotiations. The actor would take on the role of a character named Spencer Bennett, a wealthy plantation owner. Once everything is finalized Johnson will join the impressively awesome cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell.
The story follows the character Django (Fox), a freed slave, who, under the protection and care of a German bounty hunter (Waltz) becomes a badass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner (DiCaprio). This film also deals with racism and is handled in a way unlike anything we've ever seen in a film before. According to someone that read the script, "it’s a 100 percent pure popcorn and revenge flick, it is pure genius in the way it takes on the evil slave owning south. Think of what he did with the Nazis in Inglorious and you’ll get a sense of what he’s doing with slave owners and slave overseers in this one."
Johnson will make a great addition to the cast. There no word on how big of a role he will play, but I bet he ends up getting killed.
