Michael Fassbender and Steve McQueen join forces for third film!
The third time's the charm for Michael Fassbender and Steve McQueen. Variety reports that the two are re-teaming for McQueen's next film 12 Years a Slave. Mcqueen will direct from a script he co-wrote with John Ridley. Chiwetel Ejiofor is also set to star in the film that tells the true story of "Solomon Northrup, a New York citizen who was kidnapped in Washington in 1841 and rescued from a cotton plantation in Louisiana in 1853."
Slave will be produced by Plan B's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Production is expected to begin eary next year.
Fassbender has also worked with McQueen on Hunger and the upcoming Shame, which has recieved a lot of recognition for the actor's strong performances. The actor will be seen as Carl Jung in A Dangerous Method and next summers Prometheus.
I have yet to see Hunger, but I have heard it is a gripping performance. I like that Fassbender is working again with McQueen. When an actor or director find someone that they enjoy working with, perfromances are greatly impacted by their continued partnership. What are your thoughts?
