Anna Kendrick, Brendan Gleeson and Terrence Howard join THE COMPANY YOU KEEP

Movie Robert Redford by

Anna Kendrick, Brendan Gleeson and Terrence Howard have joined the cast of Robert Redford's latest film The Company You Keep. Variety also reports that Sam Elliott, and newcomer Jackie Evancho from America's Got Talent fame are also set to star. They join Redford, Shia LaBeouf, Brit Marling, Nick Nolte, Susan Sarandon, Richard Jenkins, Julie Christie, Stephen Root, Stanley Tucci and Chris Cooper in the Lem Dobbs-scripted pic, which is based on the novel by Neil Gordon.

Redford will play "Jim Grant, a former Weather Underground militant wanted by the FBI for 30 years who must go on the run when a young, ambitious reporter (LaBeouf) exposes his true identity".Kendrick will play "Diana, a young FBI agent and LaBeouf's former flame who provides him with information he needs to uncover the truth about Grant and the Bank of Michigan robbery." Howard will play "Cornelius, the senior FBI agent on the case who has relentlessly pursued Grant across the nation and now leads the task force assigned to take down the Weather Underground fugitives who have been on the run for three decades."

Gleeson will play "Henry Osborne, the retired Michigan Chief of Police who investigated the bank robbery in the 1960s." Elliott will play "Mac, Christie's employer in the marijuana trade who used to be romantically involved with her." Evancho will play "Redford's daughter, who recently lost her mother and is unaware of her father's militant past."

The political action thriller will be produce by Voltage Pictures and Redford's Wildwood Enterprises banner. Filming is currently going on in Vancouver. This is a solid ensemble cast, but I worry that too many great actors will overpower the film. What are your thoughts?
