DC's New 52 Numbers Are In: Best Sales in 20 Years!

"It's gotta be the suits."

You may have applauded when DC EO'd the Justice League with the addition of Cyborg. You may have been furious and threatened a jump to Marvel when the entire continuity was dropped...and you may have cried when The Flash's long lasting marriage came to an end...

Either way, you still bought it, despite Patton Oswalts words of warning.

DC has announced that in 6 weeks, they've sold over 5,000,000 "New 52" comics, which is the best numbers they've had in 20 years. Take into account you're putting that up against the "Knightfall" series, "The Death Of Superman", and the "DC vs Marvel" crossover, we may be talking about the next big era for comics here folks.

Wanna know the top selling comics? Boosh.

JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 has sold more than 250,000 copies.

ACTION COMICS #1 and BATMAN #1 have both sold more than 200,000 copies.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1, THE FLASH #1, GREEN LANTERN #1 andSUPERMAN #1 have all sold more than 150,000 copies.

AQUAMAN #1, BATGIRL #1, BATMAN AND ROBIN #1, BATMAN: THE DARK
KNIGHT #1, GREEN LANTERN CORPS #1, GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #1 and
WONDER WOMAN #1 have all sold more than 100,000 copies.

While no official numbers have been released in regards to digital sales of comic books, it's safe to say it played a part to the success of DC.

DC has also began bundling it's print comics with a digital download code for a dollar extra to allow for readers to transfer the comic to their iPad or other tablet device, something Marvel is already giving away for free (courtesy of your friendly non-capitalist Spiderman)...

So is it hype? Will the readership retain? Will we be seeing "New 52" movie adaptations soon? Speculate below.
