Michael Bay Denies that he is in Talks for TRANSFORMERS 4 and 5

A couple of days ago we reported that director Michael Bay was in talks to direct a two more Transformers films. The news came from Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner who was hoping to be able to announce some big news regarding this in the companies fourth quarter. Today Bay went on his blog and denied it all, so maybe someone should have actually talked to Bay first about all this. Here's what Bay said,

I am currently not talking to Paramount on T4 and T5 despite reports. I'm looking at a lot of possibilities coming my way right now weighing options. Most likely going to be doing the low budget Pain and Gain, a true story crime thriller. It's a very quick shoot and quite funny. Also just finishing the 3 disc set of the Transformer trilogy.

Now if you want to break this statement down a little the director says that he's not talking to Paramount about these movies. The original report said he was never talking to Paramount though, the original report says the toy company Hasbro was in "active discussions with studio partner Paramount, director Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg." Just because Hasbro is talking to the studio and the reps of Bay and Spielberg seperately doesn't mean that the director or studio have started talking yet.

Fact of the matter is we will eventually see another Transformers film made with or without Bay, there's too much money to be made from it. What do you think? I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Transformers movie made without Bay at the helm.
