Eric Bana to play Elvis Presley in ELVIS PRESLEY & NIXON

Movie Eric Bana by

Eric Bana will be playing Elvis Presley in an upcoming indie film. THR reports that Bana will play the iconic singer in Elvis & Nixon. The film marks the directorial debut of Cary Elwes. Bana is also serving as an exec producer. Danny Huston is close to a deal to play President Richard M. Nixon.

Elwes, Joey and Helen Sagal wrote the screenplay that centers on a Dec. 21, 1970 visit that Presley paid to Nixon at the White House. "The meeting was initiated by Presley, who wrote Nixon a six-page letter requesting a visit and suggesting that he be made a "Federal Agent-at-Large" in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Presley brought with him family photos and a Colt 45 pistol as a personal gift to the president."

This sounds like a cool story and I can visualize Bana and Huston in these roles. What are your thoughts?
