Farrelly brothers making DUMB AND DUMBER sequel for Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels
Peter and Bobby Farrelly have found their next project after just completing The Three Stooges. Deadline reports that the brothers are developing a sequel to their 1994 hit Dumb and Dumber, which they plan to direct next. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels plan to reprise as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne. The project is quickly moving ahead with Sean Anders and John Morris on board to pen the script. They co-wrote the Anders-directed Sex Drive and just co-directed the comedy I Hate You Dad starring Adam Sandler.
Dumb and Dumber was made on a $16 million budget, but grossed nearly $250 million worldwide. Original producers Charles B. Wessler, Brad Krevoy and Steve Stabler will be back as producers, as will the Farrelly’s longtime Conundrum Entertainment partner Bradley Thomas. Fox will release The Three Stooges April 4, 2012.
I am very interested in seeing a sequel to this, but only if Carrey and Daniels are in it. I like to imagine that Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd never existed. What are your thoughts?
