The Vampire Lounge Presents NIGHT OF VANITY: THE DELICIOUSLY DEBAUCHED Art Show

Art Art Show by Joey Paur

There's a art show coming up in the Los Angeles area later this month called Night of Vanity: The Deliciously Debauched and it's showing off the dark vampire inspired art of Josh Steadman. It will be held on October 25th at 8pm at the Vampire Lounge & Tasting Room in Santa Monica. The piece you see above is one of a few that will be on display. All the frames for the event are one-of-a kind antique frames, that are themed based on the piece.

Here's the full press release with all of the details:

A NIGHT OF DECADENCE, TEMPTATION AND SELF INDULGENCE, THE VAMPIRE LOUNGE & TASTING ROOM OPENS A WEEK OF DEADLY SINS WITH JOSH STEADMAN’S “NIGHT OF VANITY: THE DELICIOUSLY DEBAUCHED” THIS OCTOBER 25, 2011 AT 8 PM.

LOS ANGELES, CA, SEPTEMBER 2011. Inspired by the powerful aesthetics and the brazen themes depicted in Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, Josh Steadman’s “Night of Vanity: The Deliciously Debauched” is a show that invites you to give in to your temptations and to indulge in your human desires. With its vampiric theme and risqué-yet-subdued homoerotic overtones, Steadman’s artwork is bound to arouse, provoke and stimulate both body and mind. The show, consisting of four portraits (two male, two female), will also include prints, lithos, limited posters and original sketches, which will be available for purchase. In attendance at this high brow masquerade will be celebrities, press, friends, family, and tastemakers, with possibly a few bloodsuckers lurking in the shadows.

“Night of Vanity” will take place at 9865 S Santa Monica Blvd inside Vampire Lounge & Tasting Room, the first wine tasting room ever to open in Beverly Hills. This unique and tantalizing establishment is the tasting room for Vampire Vineyards, whose wines once came from Transylvania but these days emanate in California. With a full range of delicious wines, from Dracula Syrah to Trueblood Pinot Noir, Vampire Lounge & Tasting Room is a discreet habitat perfect for the after-sundown crowd looking to drink, to discuss art or to draw blood. Further enhanced by its mysterious surroundings, Steadman’s “Night of Vanity” is sure to be a show you’ll never forget.

Josh Steadman exceptional talents have earned him a finalist position in Walt Disney’s Imagineering contest, an invitation to design in Poland’s International Shakespeare Festival, and a sold out, one-man gallery show at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival entitled, “QuinteVint,” which played homage to the Great Depression and compared similarities to our current economy. Never limiting himself, Steadman continues to excel as a respected and distinguished designer who challenges himself to exciting projects in art, entertainment and film.
