Looks like Joel Silver is trying to duplicate the success he had with the Liam Neeson thriller Unknown. THR reports that Warner Bros has picked up an action thriller spec titled The Envoy by Robert Lynn. The project is being produced by Silver Pictures' Joel Silver and Andrew Rona.

The Envoy follows "a young diplomatic courier whose routine delivery turns deadly when it’s discovered the sensitive information he carries contains stolen plans for an attack on American interests. He must make it to the American embassy in Vienna while various forces try to stop him."

Lynn got his start as a contestant on Project: Greenlight, and went on to write and direct several low-budget films but this is his first major sale. It sounds like a cool story too. What are your thoughts?
