Batman, Meth and Money: One Mans Failed Attempt At Comic Dealing

"Mugshots always bring out true inner beauty I think."

Meet Aaron Castro. While he's not the dude who constructed several Bleach and Final Fantasy swords out of matchsticks in prison, he is now the latest bust in the underground geek crime syndicate. After getting with his brother Alfonzo in a botched "speed" deal, authorities raided Castro's compound in Denver.

In addition to the usual meth and other illegal substances, authorities uncovered over 100 boxes of 1st edition comics of all kinds. The total value of the comics alone is valued at half a million dollars with a single Batman comic being valued at over $3,500!

The plan, according to the Denver district attorney, was to flip the drug money to start up a "high end comic book shop" (emphasis on the high I'm guessing).

As for the Castro all I can say is how you going to be a drug/black market comic book dealer with a blind eye and not rock an eye patch?! Should've been the first step in my opinion, but hey, we all can't be fashionistas.

Is it just me or have a lot of geeks been getting the criminal "banhammer" lately? Any nerdy shakedowns happening in your neck of the woods? Post below if so. Also, be on the lookout for that police auction comic collectors!
