Casting Bits: Channing Tatum for MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. & Felicity Jones for Howard Hughes biopic

Here is a casting bits for Monday November 14.

Channing Tatum is set to star in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Deadline reports that Tatum will replace Bradley Cooper in the film being directed by Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh directed Tatum in Magic Mike, which is also from Warner Bros. First, George Clooney dropped out because he’s having surgery and wasn’t up to the stunt work and Cooper recently dropped out. The film is based on the 1960s TV show and Tatum would play the role made famous by Robert Vaughn.

Like Crazy's Felicity Jones has been chosen to star in Warren Beatty in his untitled film about reclusive industrialist Howard Hughes. The film recently had a setback after Paramount dropped out and New Regency is now co-financing the project. Jones beat out a number of other young actresses for the role of "a young woman who develops a relationship with Hughes’s young driver and confidante, before she falls in love with Hughes." Beatty is playing Hughes in the film, which he wrote and plans to direct. The hunt is currently underway for the role of the young lead, with actors such as Justin Timberlake and Alden Ehrenreich being considered. The film may also star Annette Bening, Jack Nicholson, Alec Baldwin and Owen Wilson

I am hoping that Tatum will change the opinions of doubters with his upcoming roles in Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street. There has been a bunch of great buzz for Like Crazy and I am interested in seeing it when it arrives.
