New Image from Pixar's BRAVE

Disney has released a new image for Pixar's great looking new animated film Brave. I've loved everything I've seen for this movie so far, it looks like a wonderfully dark animated adventure. It's definitely the darkest looking movie that Pixar has made so far, but according to Brave co-director Mark Andrews it wont be "missing any of the comedy or entertainment you usually associate with Pixar." He also had this to say in a interview regarding the films main character which is Pixar's first lead female heroine,

She's your anti-princess. She isn't your typical princess. She doesn't wear nice clothes except in a couple of scenes when her strict mom, Queen Elinor, makes her do it for special functions. She's an active and action-oriented person. She wants to get out in the outdoors of the Highlands, escaping from castle life and exploring the woods.

The new full trailer for the film is set to be released on Tuesday of this week, so stayed tuned. We will get it up for you as soon as it hits. Here's a shrt description of the trailer from Yahoo, "Merida's father tells of the 12-foot-tall beast with razor-sharp claws, a face scarred with a dead eye and "hide littered with the weapons of fallen warriors," that chomped off his leg while the rebellious Merida transverses a lush forest, ascends a mountain and lands a bull's eye at a tournament."

The movie was directed Marc Andrews/Brenda Chapman and it features the voices of Kelly Macdonald (No Country for Old MenBoardwalk EmpireBilly ConnollyEmma ThompsonJulie WaltersKevin McKiddCraig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane.

Here's the Synopsis:

Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Connolly) andQueen Elinor (Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman(Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida’s quest — and serving as comic relief — are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Coltrane).

Brave arrives in theaters June 22nd, 2012. Are you excited for this new Pixar adventure?
