Kristen Stewart Offered AKIRA Role

Kristen Stewart has been offered the lead female role in Akira. Twitch reports that the Twilight actress has been been offered a role in the film being directed by Jaume Collet-Sera. She would star alongside Garrett Hedlund, Helena Bonham Carter and Gary Oldman in the adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's classic manga. If cast, she would play Kei, "a young medium who becomes the love interest for Kaneda"

Stewart looks awesome in Snow White and the Huntsman and I have liked her in Adventureland and The Runaways. I think she is a solid actress, aside from Twilight. Whether you agree with Akira being made, you have to understand the need to have bankable actors in the roles. I am at least intrigued by this news and am interested in what this film will actually look like. 

I say, it may be time to get over the fact that the movie is being made. We have no control over that. Lets just hope it looks awesome and has a decent script. Share your thoughts below!
