Horror fans it is time to announce another remake Variety reports that the unlikely 80’s film Chopping Mall is slatete for remake from Dry County Entertainment. The project is being directed by Robert Hall, who brought us Laid to Rest and Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2. This project re-teams Hall with screenwriter and producing partner Kevin Bocarde.

Jim Wynorski wrote and directed the original, which was produced by Julie and Roger Corman. The movie was initially released in 1986 under the title Killbots, and focused on “a group of teenagers trapped inside a shopping mall and hunted by the building's new security force: state of the art robots with a taste for blood.”

Hall’s version of Chopping Mall will take a supernatural terror route, and will downplay the science fiction elements. Check out the trailer for the original film below and share your thoughts:

I am not a fan of remakes typically, but this sounds like a good choice actually. I did not know there wre many die hard fans of the original to warrant a remake though. What are your thougths?
