NBC is moving quickly on the it’s reboot of The Munsters. Deadline reports that Bryan Singer (X-Men and Superman Returns) is close to signing on to direct and exec produce series based on the 1960s comedy. The series is being produced by Universal Television, which is described “as an imaginative reinvention of The Munsters as a visually spectacular one-hour drama.” Singer has reportedly been interested in the project since before NBC gave it the green light, and will executive produce with Fuller.

Fuller had originally developed The Munsters for last season, but he redeveloped it with NBC’s new executive team over the summer. Fuller is responsible for Pushing Daisies, which also had a unique style. Singer is currently working on Jack The Giant Killer. I think he will be a great fit for The Munsters.
