Fox wants Matthew Vaughn back to Direct X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Sequel

I don't think it's any surprise that 20th Century Fox wants Matthew Vaughn to come back and direct their sequel to X-Men: First Class. The guy did an incredible job with the first film, making one of the best X-Men films that have been made. The studio obviously wants to replicate the quality and success of the film, getting the director back is their first step to making it happen.

Fox CEO and Chairman Tom Rothman confirmed their desire to get Vaughn back on board for the sequel, as well as get Rupert Wyatt to direct the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Here's what Wyatt went on to say in a recent interview that,

Both of them were really great scripts and so we have to be sure to get great scripts again. We're working hard on the scripts for both of them, but we have every hope of moving forward with them.

The studio obviously wants to get everything right again the second time around for each of these movies. I really hope they can pull it off. If they get these directors back to develop the sequels, I think we'll get a couple more great films out of these franchises. What are your thoughts?
