Andy Serkis Signs on PLANET OF THE APES Sequel

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was one of the surprise hits of the summer for me. I loved that film, and it turned out to be one of my favorite movies of the summer. I wasn't expecting that much awesomeness coming out of the movie, but it did and with that Awesomeness came $453 million dollars.

It's no surprise that we were going to get a sequel, after all the week of the release director Rupert Wyatt started talking about his possible plans for the movie. It's been reported that Andy Serkis who played Ceasar in the movie has officially signed on to reprise his role. He's the first actor that been locked for the sequel, and Fox plans on pushing his performance in Rise of the Apes for a Oscar nomination.

Wyatt and screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are officially attached to bring the sequel to life. As of right now there's no word on when or if James Franco or Freida Pinto will return. I'm excited to see where the Planet of the Apes story goes from here.
