Eric Bana and Danny Huston are ELVIS & NIXON

Movie Eric Bana by

Cary Elwes is set to make his directorial debut with Elvis & Nixon. K5 International has picked up the international rights to the comedy from Benaroya Pictures. The film will star Eric Bana as Elvis Presley and Danny Huston as Richard Nixon.

Elvis & Nixon tells the story of Elvis Presley visiting President Richard M. Nixon at the White House in December of 1970. The meeting was initiated by Presley, who wrote Nixon a six-page letter requesting a visit and suggesting that he be made a 'Federal Agent-at-Large' in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Presley brought with him family photos and a Colt 45 pistol as a personal gift to the President.

Elwes co-wrote the screenplay with Joey Sagal and Hanala Sagal. Principle photography is scheduled to begin in Shreveport and Los Angeles. I think that Huston and Bana will do well in the roles. What are your thoughts on this news?
