Steven Soderbergh's BITTER PILL sought by Summit and Lava Bear

Movie Steven Soderbergh by
Steven Soderbergh’s next film, Bitter Pill looks to have a couple of studios interested. Deadline reports that Summit Entertainment and David Linde’s Lava Bear are both eyeying the project scripted by Scott Z. Burns. Summit looks to be the studio that will likely take the lead. The film is described as “a potboiler in the Jagged Edge-Basic Instinct mold about a troubled and depressed woman who is taking serious amounts of prescription drugs to deal with the anxiety surrounding the pending release of her husband from prison.”

Burns penned the script a few years ago and intended to direct the film for Miramax with the title, The Side Effects. He got busy and left on the shelf until Soderbergh read the script and wanted to make it his next film. Burns wrote The Bourne Ultimatum, Contagion and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: Captain Nemo.

This sounds pretty cool to me. I am excited to see any film Soderbergh is involved in. What are your thoughts?
