New trailer for THE FLOWERS OF WAR arrives
Here is the second trailer for Zhang Yimou’s fact-based drama The Flowers Of War, which stars Christian Bale. The story focuses on a man (Bale) who finds refuge with a group of women in a church during Japan’s raid of Nanking in 1937. The Flowers of War will be China’s Academy Award entry, and it has my vote (unfortunatley it does not count).
The film is China’s most expensive movie ever made, with a budget of almost $100 million. It has some beautiful cinematography as well as epic battle sequences. Check out the video below thanks to Deadline (via FirstShowing):
The film is being released in the U.S. by Wrekin Hill and has set it for a qualifying run December 21 in New York and December 23 in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with a wider release planned later. Are you interested in seeing this film?
