It has been a bit since a true disaster movie has been released. The wait is over because New Line Cinema is prepping an epic earthquake disaster film titled San Andreas: 3D. According to the LA Times the script was penned by Allan Loeb. Loeb’s credits include 21, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and the upcoming Rock of Ages. San Andreas will be produced by Beau Flynn (Journey to the Center of the Earth, Red Dawn).

Get ready for “The Big One” here is the description of the film:
[T]he hero is forced to go on the road to reconcile with his children and his estranged wife, who's moved away and taken up with another man a la John Cusack's character in "2012." (According to a person who's read the script, the "San Andreas" hero makes the trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco using some rather, er, unconventional transportation.
Disaster movies are hit and miss with me. San Andreas sounds like they are not doing anything new or unique, aside from adding 3D. If the visual effects are good, then this could be decent. What are your thoughts?
