Linda Lovelace Biopic Casts 4 New Actors

Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman started shooting their Linda Lovelace biopic today, and we've learned about four new actors that have joined the cast of the movie. 

Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth and Robert Patrick have all been cast in the film Lovelace and will join Amanda Seyfried who was previously cast in the title role. They also join Peter Sarsgaard whois playing her husband Chuck Traynor, and it's looking like James Franco will be playing Hugh Hefner in the film as well. He was originally in talks to take on the role of Traynor.

According to Deadline "Azaria will play Jerry Damiano, director of Lovelace’s iconic film Deep Throat; Cannavale and Noth will play the film’s financiers Butchie Peraino and Anthony Romano, respectively; and Patrick will play Lovelace’s father." Rounding out the cast we have Wes Bentley, Sharon Stone, and Juno Temple.

The film is based on book written by Eric DanvilleThe Complete Linda Lovelaceand is being adapted by W. Merritt Johnson and Andy Bellin.

For those of you not familiar, "Lovelace is the infamous star of the 1972 porn flick Deep Throat, which is one of the highest-grossing independent films of all-time. She was just a Florida schoolgirl named Linda Boreman when she met Traynor, a would-be filmmaker transformed her into a world-famous sex star. After years of being victimized, Lovelace quit the business and divorced Traynor, who she accused of taking advantage of her naivete and coercing her into porn and prostitution."

This is the second Lovelace film currently in development. The other film comes from writer-director Matthew Wilder and is based on Lovelace's autobiography Ordeal in whichMalin Akerman attached to star. This film is expected to start production in January of next year.
