24 the Movie to Start Shooting in 2012

Movie 201224 by Joey Paur

It looks like 24 the movie is actually going to go down. I figured it was one of those pipe dreams that would never happen, but it really is actually moving forward! In fact, 20th Century Fox has hired The Wolverine screenwriter Mark Bomback to write the latest draft of the script. The script is supposed to be turned in by the end of the year and the studio is looking to start shooting the film early next year, which is great for all of us 24 fans!

According to Deadline Tony Scott is no longer attached to direct the movie, but the studio has five other directors in mind. There's no word on who those five directors are. Of course Kiefer Sutherland will be back to reprise his role as Jack Bauer, the man who never eats, sleeps, or poops within a 24 hour period of time, but manages to save the world from evil doers. "The goal is to get the film into production to match Sutherland’s availability, which begins in April." Awesome!

What do you all think about this 24 movie adaptation actually going down? Are you excited for it to get made?
