EVIL DEAD Remake headed to New Zealand

It's been revealed that next March the Evil Dead reboot production team is headed of to New Zealand to start filming the horror film.

The movie is being produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. Fede Alvarez will be directing the film from a script that he and Diablo Cody wrote. It's hard for me not to be excited about this. I'm a fan of the franchise, and you never know this could end up being a completely awesome horror film. I know there are parts about this that can suck, but I'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. I want this movie to be good! Sony Pictures and FilmDistrict have teamed up to distribute the movie.

As of right now the official synopsis is as follows... Five friends hole up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival. Other information on the film reveals that the motivation behind the trip with the lead character taking his younger sister to the family's cabin to help her kick her drug addiction. Without her drugs she becomes insane and difficult to control, which makes it impossible to see that she's actually possessed.
