Top Five Comedies from Gary Sanchez Productions - THE MANNY Gets a rewrite
In honor of The Manny getting a rewrite from Justin Malen for Gary Sanchez and Red Wagon at Sony, I have compiled a list of my TOP FIVE COMEDIES FROM GARY SANCHEZ.
5. The Foot Fist Way
This was the first movie they produced, which starred a then-unknown Danny McBride. This is a movie you need to check out if you like McBride’s style of comedy.
4. HBO’s Eastbound and Down
This is another Danny McBride comedic gem that will have you rolling in your seat with laughter.
3. The Landlord (Short)
This video short is what catapulted FunnyOrDie.com into the viral video world and it is a must-watch. It is so funny to see the young girl demanding the money from her tennant played by Will Ferrell.
2. The Virginity Hit
This was a low-fi take on the quest of one young teen to lose his virginity and it was simple and funny and realistic (even though it was staged).
1. Step Brothers
This is one of my favorite comedies of late. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are brilliant in this movie.
According to Deadliine, “The Manny is an R-rated comedy about an unemployed (and soon-to-be homeless) recent college grad who, after exhausting all the normal ways of getting a job in the financial world, actually tries nannying his way into one. He figures that if he becomes the manny for the kid of a Wall Street magnate, it will lead to a real job. In the meantime, he’ll be getting paid to live like a prince on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.”
This story sounds decent, but for it to make it into a list in the future it will have to have a great script and a funny leading man. Who do you think should play the lead in this film? What do you think of my Top Five Comedies list above?
