Colin Firth wont be in OLDBOY Remake

I was really hoping to see Colin Firth take on the villainous role in Spike Lee's Oldboy remake. It would have made the film a lot more interesting. Unfortunately the actor has officially passed on the offer that was made, and it's kind of disappointing.

Firth would have played the man who insanely torments the character that Josh Brolin is playing. Hopefully Lee will be able to find someone just as interesting and talented to take it on. The plan is to shoot the film next year so I'm sure we'll find out who their next choice is soon.

Producer Roy Lee gave an interview last month in which he said the new take on the film would be "different and darker" than the original.
