Awesome Sci-Fi Short Film ROSA getting Big Screen Adaptation

Last month we shared a hell of a great little CGI animated sci-fi short film with you called Rosa. In my initial post I wondered how long it would take before the Jesus Orellana (the creator of the short) landed his first movie deal... It didn't take long!

Today it's being reported that 20th Century Fox is in final negotiations to acquire the movie rights to Rosa, and hire the comic book artist who created it to direct the live-action feature film. There was no doubt in my mind that this would happen. The short looked completely badass, and even though I had no idea what was really going on in the short it still looked like there was a cool and entertaining story to be told.

What's crazy about this whole thing is the fact that this short is is the only thing Orellana has ever directed, and he made it with no budget on his come computer. He made it to get the attention of someone in Hollywood and it freakin' worked! So congrats to Jesus Orellana for accomplishing his goal.

The will bring on a screenwriter to write the movie, which will be built on a storyline and characters of the short. Orellana put together a roadmap for the feature story as part of his pitch presentation. What do you all think about this short film getting a live-action feature film adaptation?

Heres the synopsis that came along with the short that you can watch below:

ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival.
