Movie District 9 by

Amanda Hocking‘s Trylle Trilogy is the newest book series to get a feature adaptation. Hocking announced on her site that Terri Tatchell (District 9 co-writer) has optioned the film. The book series is said to be a paranormal YA fantasy.

Hocking is only 26 years old and she's already self-published 17 books, which have sold over 600,000 copies according to USA Today. The Trylle Trilogy are the most popular of her books. Here is the synopsis of the first volume, Switched:

When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn’t until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right.

With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed – a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy’s not sure she wants to be a part of it.

You'll have to read the books to find out what type of monster it is!

It will be cool to see how Tatchell’s script turns out. Aside from co-writing District 9, she has no other major scripts to her name. At this point, the Trylle Trilogy has only been optioned for a script, so there are a few more steps to go before it becomes a full-fledged movie.

Check out the trailer for the novel Switched, which expands a bit on the synopsis:
