Julia Roberts in Talks to play the Evil Queen in SNOW WHITE

A couple months ago it was reported that director Tarsem Singh (The Fall) was looking to cast Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen in his The Brothers Grimm: Snow White film. Today it's been confirmed that she is officially in talks to join the film production, and I think she'll make a great Evil Queen. The movie will be filmed in 3D and Relativity Media is producing the film along with Brett Ratner who described the film in a previous interview saying,

This is not your grandfather’s Snow White. Melisa [Wallack, who wrote the script] went back to the 500 year old folk tale and put in some of the things that were missing from Walt Disney’s film. His dwarfs were miners, and here they are robbers. There is also a dragon that was in the original folk tale. Walt made one of the great movies of all time, but ours is edgy and there is more comedy. The original, made for its time, was soft compared to what we’re going to do.

As you know this isn't the only Snow White movie going into production. Universl Pictures is developing Snow White and the Huntsman, set to be directed by Rupert Sanders, Kristen Stewart is in negotiations to play Snow White, Charlize Theron will play that film's Evil Queen, and Viggo Mortensen will take on the role of the Huntsman. Disney is also developing Snow White and the Seven where the seven dwarfs will be seven martial arts skilled monks.
