What a KAVALIER & CLAY movie could have looked like!

Here are some animation tests for the Kavalier & Clay movie that never made it to the big screen. The film was to be based on Michael Chabon's novel called The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, about "two Jewish cousins in New York City who create a beloved comic-book superhero."

Even though the novel won a Pulitzer Prize and it had a development deal it ended up in development hell.

Scott Rudin had commissioned an animation test to bring the book's comic-book hero, the Escapist, to life. The clip is directed by Jamie Caliri. What Caliri delivered was a snippet of the script itself that would demonstrate how they could combine live action and animation in an emotionally compelling way. Check it out below and share your thoughts!
