Sylvester Stallone set to Play a Hitman in HEADSHOT

Sylvester Stallone has landed the lead role in a new action film called Headshot in which he will play a New Orleans hitman who teams up with a New York City cop.

The film is set to be directed by Wayne Kramer (The Cooler) from a script written by Alessandro Camon (The Messenger). Smallville's Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are producing.

According to THR the story follows "Stallone's character as he teams with a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge."

The film is scheduled to start shooting in May in Louisiana and New York. I know Stallone has been talking about making a Expendales sequel, I'm just not sure if it will get made before or after Headshot. I wonder how much longer he can keep up with making these action films.

It should be interesting to see how this turns out, and who end up being cast as the NYC cop.
