Alec Baldwin drops out of MEN IN BLACK 3

Alec Baldwin was set to star in a small role in the long delayed, Men in Black 3. As we've reported there have been two big delays on the film. Sony has the first act in the can, but has been scrambling to pull together an acceptable script for the second.  The script is currently being reworked by David Koepp.

Vulture recently spoke to Baldwin about his role and the actor responded by saying,

I’m not doing that. I’m out of it; the schedule didn’t work out.

Baldwin had been set to star as the head of the 1969 era Men in Black agency. His portion is currently being rewritten and production is scheduled to start at the end of March. At least he'll be starring and singing in Rock of Ages, opposite Tom Cruise and Julianne Hough.
