Breck Eisner in Talks to Direct THE LAST WITCH HUNTER

Crazies director Breck Eisner is currently in talks to direct a new film called The Last Witch Hunter for Summit Entertainment. When the studio picked up the film from Priest screenwriter Cory Goodman, Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) was attached to direct it. He's currently focused on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, so he's not going to be able to make The Last Witch Hunter, but he will be a producer on the project. I think Eisner is a solid replacement, I like what he did with The Crazies. 

The film follows one of the last witch hunters, a breed that keeps the population of witches and warlocks in check. They are about to repopulate in a major way unless he can stop them.

From that brief plot summary it sounds a lot like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Except is focuses more on the witch and warlock aspect... will they cast Charlie Sheen? I just assume that it will take place in modern contemporary setting, since there aren't very many witch hunters these days. 

I think this will end up being a fun film project.
