Say Anything Tops List of 50 Clips that Totally Rocked Our World;

Films Starring Tom Cruise, John Cusack, Tom Hanks, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler, Patrick Swayze, John Travolta and Mark Wahlberg Make List

They say music soothes the savage beast, but it seems to us that the best musically-driven movie scenes do just the opposite: They get our toes tapping, our hands clapping and our rumps shaking.  The editors of AOL’s Moviefone (www.moviefone.com) compiled their list ofthe 50 Best Music Scenes in Movies.  

The top 10 Music Scenes in Movies are:

Other notable selections on the list include: 

  • Patrick Swayze made the list twice with the “Unchained Melody” pottery scene in Ghost (#6) and the “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” finale of Dirty Dancing (#12)

  • Tom Cruise made the list twice with his underwear scene in Risky Business (#3) and serenading Kelly McGillis in Top Gun (#15)

  • John Travolta made the list twice with his dance scenes in Saturday Night Fever (#21) and Pulp Fiction (#40)

  • Quentin Tarantino directed two films on the list the ear hacking scene in Reservoir Dogs and dancing at Jack Rabbit Slim’s in Pulp Fiction (#40)

  • Past Academy Award Best Picture winning films were also selected including Sam playing “As Time Goes By” on the piano in Casablanca (#11); Buffalo Bill’s dance scene in The Silence of the Lambs (#32); Diane Keaton sings “Seems Like Old Times” in Annie Hall (#38); the bar scene inThe Deer Hunter (#49)
