CANDYLAND Movie being Written By Kung Fu Panda Scribes

The long awaited Candyland is being pushed forward over at Universal Pictures. The studio has just hired Kung Fu Panda screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger to write the script for the movie being directed by Kevin Lima (Enchanted, Tarzan).

The board game film adaptation was set up at Universal when it made its six-year deal with Hasbro back in 2008. I'm sure most of you have played the game that centers around finding the lost king of Candy Land. The players wind their way through enchanted lands such as Candy Cane Forest and Gum Drop Mountain, see characters such as Princess Frostine and Gramma Nutt as well as the evil Lord Licorice who can make players lose a turn.

I have no interest at all in watching this movie, I honestly don't see how it will be any good. It's just the studio's attempt to make a lot of money off an existing franchise... which they will. There are going to be a lot of kids who will want to watch this movie, and the poor parents of the world like myself will have to give in and take the kids to see it. Damn you Hollywood!
