James Spader, Carla Gugino, Ryan Phillippe and more join Sheldon Turner's BY VIRTUE FALL

Yesterday we reported that Eric Bana was very much on board for Sheldon Turner's By Virtue Fall. Today THR reports that James SpaderCarla GuginoRyan PhillippeTreat Williams and Kim Coates have joined the cast. Bana is already attached to play one of the two leads.

As of last year, both Bana and Colin Farrell were interested in starring and producer Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker) was set to produce. Since then, Farrell has dropped out and Chartier says he's no longer involved with the project. The good news is that Bana is still involved and said, "he hopes to make it his next movie after he finishes shooting "Blackbird," the thriller he's currently making with Olivia Wilde."

QED International (District 9W.) looks to be handling foreign sales and putting up at least part of the money for production. The film tells the story of a pair of ATF agents who end up enemies after one frames the other for a crime. The writer-director is producing with Jennifer Klein.
