Promo Photo for Upcoming ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN Animated Series

I am a huge Spider-Man fan.  However, it seems that I have a been a little let down with some of the product that has been coming out of the Marvel camp.  First it's the post Civil War, Peter Parker memory erase story line and now this.  

The new animated series ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN seems, on the outside, to be potentially good.  You would think it would be considering that Brian Michael Bendis is at the helm of the project.  But this first image does not inspire hope on my insides.  I am by no means an artist, but I was expecting more.  Here is the first promo image for the series.  Maybe I am being a little too harsh.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  Thanks to dailyblam for the image:
