Brie Larson (United States of Tara) has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street. The film is set up over at Sony Pictures, and she will join Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube who have already been cast.
Larson will play the character Molly in the film, which is set to be developed by Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
I don't watch United States of Tara, so I'm not familiar with Larson's work. It would be cool if this movie actually turned out to be good, but I'm not getting my hopes up though.
21 Jump Street will be based on the classic 1987 TV series that launched Johnny Depp's career, about undercover officers who infiltrate schools to fight crime.
What are your thoughts on Larson taking on the lead female role of the film?
