Ridley Scott still Planning MONOPOLY Movie

Just because Ridley Scott is gearing up to shoot his big alien sci-fi film Prometheus doesn't mean he's given up on that Monopoly movie he's been attached to. Yes, this is the same movie that will be based on the classic Hasbro board game. Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner recently gave a little update on the project saying,

Monoploy is still happening, and we're developing a great story. It's a very fun take. Ridley is still the perfect creative steward, because he creates these great, fictionalized worlds. It's going to be a very fun story to tell.

It's a very human and personal story. It's not really 'Wall Street,' not at all. It's a fictionalized story of a family, and there's a lot of intrigue in the story. Suffice it to say, it's a story about a family with a history, and we're projecting that into current times. But it's not 'Wall Street.' It's more about property ownership and of the play-pattern of the game.

Even though Scott is attached to this movie, It's still hard for me to get behind. But this is exactly how I felt when I first heard they were making a movie about Facebook. Scott is aiming to shoot the film in 2012 or 2013. What are your thoughts on this Monopoly movie?
