Sam Claflin and Alicia Vikander to star in THE SEVENTH SON
Sam Claflin and Alicia Vikander are in negotations to star in The Seventh Son from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. They will play Tom and Alice in the fantasy tale being adapted from Joseph Delaney's young adult series about a 13-year-old who's the seventh son of a seventh son and learns about wizardry from a forbidding spook.
Variety reports that Claflin and Vikander were among the almost-dozen young actors that tested for roles this week. The two emerged as favorites among several execs on Thursday. With these deals ramping up, pic is moving closer to a greenlight. Jeff Bridges is in talks to take on the role of the Spook and Julianne Moore is nearing a deal to play a witch in the film that was formerly known as The Spook's Apprentice.
Sergei Bodrov is directing the film being produced by Thunder Road's Basil Iwanyk, Legendary's Thomas Tull and Lionel Wigram. Jon Jashni and former Legendary executive Alysia Cotter are serving as executive producers.
Sounds like a great cast and a cool story. I think if Bridges and Moore get locked in this film will be given the green light. What are your thoughts on this news?
