MURDERBALL director takes on DISCONNECT for first narrative feature
Henry-Alex Rubin (Murderball) is set to direct his narrative feature directing debut with a drama called Disconnect. Liddell Entertainment and Wonderful Films are financing the film. Andrew Stern wrote the script that tells "the linked stories of a group of contemporary characters searching for human connection in a wired world." Disconnect is being produced by Mickey Liddell, Jennifer Hilton and William Horberg, while Marc Forster and Brad Simpson are serving as exec producers. The film is slated to start shooting in the fall. Rubin recently won the 2011 British Arrow Award for top TV commercial, for a T-Mobile spot he helmed for Saatchi & Saatchi.
It will be interesting to see how Rubin makes the leap from making a cool documentary to a film that has "linked stories." What are your thoughts on this news?
