Joseph Gordon-Levitt's DARK KNIGHT RISES Character Has Ties to The Joker

This is just a random coincidence, but there here were two bits of Batman news that we posted today. The first is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing a Gotham City Beat Cop named John Blake in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. The second thing I posted I came across today while surfing the web. A little Batman comic featuring the Joker stealing some kids report card that I found funny so I thought I would post it for a bit of entertainment.

Turns out the kid in the comic is named Johnny Blake, the name of Joseph Gordon-Levitts character in The Dark Knight Rises is John Blake. I wasn't even thinking about connecting the two when I posted it, but wow... there it was right in front of me. And I have to thank GT reader mrhuychu for pointing it out.

The comic is based on a story from Comedy of Tears, in it "the Joker's latest scheme is to make people cry, with tragedy forming the other half of comedy. Batman suspects there's more going on here than that, though." As I described it earlier, the Joker runs up to some poor kid (Johnny Blake), excited to show his dad a perfect report card filled with A's, grabs it, and runs away! The boy is left crying because his dad will never believe that he went from D's to  A's at school, or that it was actually stolen from him. The Joker laughs at the fact he made Blake cry as he runs away.

So does Gordon-Levitts character have a connection with the Joker? It sure looks like it. This definitely gives us a little more background on the character. I just thought this was really interesting and cool. What do you all think?
