Jacki Weaver, Oscar-nominated for her role as the matriarch in Animal Kingdom, has joined the cast of Nicholas Stoller's Five Year Engagement. The comedy is being produced by Judd Apatow and stars Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Rhys Ifans and Lauren Weedman. Stoller co-wrote the script with Segel.
This is the third feature film that Stoller has directed. His past film's include, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek. The comedy "charts the ups and downs of an engaged couple en route to the altar." Not much else is known about the film at this time. The film is slated to begin production in the spring for a 2012 release.
I like Stoller's past films and am a huge fan of Segel. Weaver was amazing in Animal Kingdom, it will be interesting to see her in a comedic role. The rest of the cast is great as well so I am very excited to see this film. What are your thoughts?
