Lionsgate in talks with Takers Director for LEATHERFACE 3D

It looks like Lionsgate is actually moving forward with this Leatherface 3D movie. The studio is currently in talks with director John Lussenhop to take on the project which serves as a sequel to the Platinum Dunes produced Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake that was released via New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.

Luessenhop directed that terrible 2010 film Takers which starred Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Matt Dillon. The one thing I will always remember about that film is the crappy that crappy photoshopped head poster that was released for it.

The script for this third Chainsaw Massacre movie was written by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Suscoflick. Apparently the story picks up immediately where Tobe Hooper's original left off before flashing forward 35 years. As interesting as that sounds, I'm still not interested. I loved the original Chainsaw Massacre films, but these remakes have really sucked. What do you think?
