THE DARK CRYSTAL & LABYRINTH To Get HD Makeover HDNet

This coming Memorial Day HDNet will air a double feature of two Jim Henson classics in HD, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. This is the first time ever that the films will be seen in HD on TV, and it's also the first time in over 10 years that the films have actually been shown on TV, which seems crazy.
The event will happen one night only on Monday May 30th at 8pm. The Dark Crystal is coming up on it's 30th anniversary, and Labyrinth is going to celebrate it's 25th anniversary this year. I can't believe it's been that long. Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company had this to say in a statement,
We have initiated a company-wide effort to relaunch these titles across both targeted and broad distribution platforms including all forms of television, digital, publishing and consumer products, making these much-loved titles easily available to the loyal fans who continue to support them.
I grew up watching these movies, and I actually recently showed my kids Labyrinth for the first time, they liked it, but it had been so long for me that I forgot how cheesy it was. I kind of wish I didn't watch it again, because it sure wasn't as good as I remembered it being.
