Glasses-Free 3D Technology Coming to Cars and Airplanes

The only reason I see any need to watch anything in 3D is if it's a big epic film that is actually shot in 3D, not converted, and shown on a big screen. I honestly see no point what-so-ever in showing movies or TV shows in 3D on a small car or airplane screen, even if it is glasses free, but that is exactly what we have coming to us. Hell, I'm not even sold on big screen 3D TV's yet.

The 3D company MasterImage are currently making arrangements that will put glasses-free 3D screens in cars and on airplanes. For some reason there's a lot of interest for a deal like this. Fact of the matter is I'm completely fine with watching something on a small screen that's not in 3D, and even if I had the extra money to get it I don't think I would ever feel the need for a 3D screen in a car. This seriously just seems like one of the most pointless 3D ventures so far.

One of the most interesting things in this article is that they point out that most models of cars soon will have built in WiFi, which is fantastic! You get online on your computer, dowload music and movies directly to your car. Of course they make a point to say in the article that you can also download 3D movies.

MasterImage is also looking to get their 3d technology into smart phones and tablets. This is somthing they've been working on implmenting for awhile. As much as I love technology I still don't get it. Maybe once I see it in action I will, but just the thought of the idea seems like a waste. We've got about 3 years to let it sink in, because that's how long it will take before we start seeing this stuff implemented in the cars and airplanes.

What do you think about glasses-free 3D on airplanes, cars, smart phones and tablets? Would you pay the extra cash for it?
