Joel Kinnaman cast in SAFE HOUSE

Joel Kinnnaman (AMC's The Killing) has joined the cast of Universal's Safe House, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. The news comes directly after we reported that Mireille Enos (his Killing co-star) was in talks to join World War Z. This is the second casting news for the film today. Earlier we reported that Vera Farmiga was set to star. This marks the second time that the Swedish has worked with Daniel Espinosa. The director helmed Kinnaman's breakout film Easy Money/Snabba Cash.

David Guggenheim wrote the script that follows "an attack on a CIA safe house (Reynolds) as he tries to transport a lethal prisoner (Washington) to a second destination before being taken out by violent forces that want them both dead." Kinnaman will star in a key role as the operator of the safe house. Safe House is currently filming in South Africa, and also stars Tim McGraw, Ruben Blades and Brendan Gleeson.

The Killing is a must-watch show every week for me. I love his role and am not interested in seeing watching his first film. Safe House sounds like a nice change of pace for Reynolds after starring in The Green Lantern
