Director Joel Schumacher is set to helm a new thriller called The Hive for Troika Pictures. Richard D'Ovidio (Exit Wounds, Thirteen Ghosts) wrote the script that tells the story of "an emergency operator who must confront a killer from her past to save a young girl's life." It is not known when production will begin.

Schumacher directed The Lost Boys, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, and 8MM. Most recently he directed Trespass and the straight-to-disc title Blood Creek. This sounds like a pretty cool story concept, it reminds me of Shocker starring Peter Berg to an extent. 8MM was very creepy so I am interested in seeing Schumacher's take on The Hive. Trespass also looks really good. Is it possible that Schumacher could be redeeming himself for his earlier Batman films?
